About

I grew up around smart techy geeky type people, the interesting part is that I grew up in Kingston, Jamaica (ages 1 – 16) where you would not necessarily expect to find some of the techiest people I know today (3 of my friends went to M.I.T and another is a Rhodes scholar).  At the age of 15 I decided to become an Electrical Engineer, little did I know that that did not mean that I would always get to own the newest  and coolest gadgets.

I’m proud to say that I stuck with EE and was able to use it for a few years as an officer in the Air Force.  Along the way I got to do some crazy cool engineering type stuff.  I worked for the Department of Energy (DoE) at a research lab called Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL) on a space based missile defense program.  Then later I was able to work on tech that was used to see through the debris of the World Trade Center after 9/11 to search for heartbeats and breathing, and in the Air Force I got to do some stuff in some places that was pretty cool too.

During college and the subsequent USAF time as an engineer I discovered that though I could do all the logic, analysis, design, you know the head work of it all, that being an engineer wasn’t my passion.  I enjoy technology and being around people, so I decided to try out being a medical device sales rep for a few years, telling surgeons what to do is a ton of fun. Most recently I am co-founding a startup called OtherScreen, more on that to come later.

Hopefully one day my love of tech will come to some good.
